DESCRIPTION

First stop of the route in front of the famous Balata church built in 1925, a 1 / 5th scale replica of the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart of Montmartre in Paris. Then, the visit of the famous botanical garden of Balata, essential place for nature lovers, you will walk on the Trace road which crisscrosses lush vegetation to visit the Domaine d'Emeraude, site set on the foothills of the Mount volcano Peeled and endowed with a wonderful exploration pavilion dedicated to the natural history of Martinique.

An aperitif followed by a Creole lunch will be served in a restaurant, then head to the Depaz rum distillery, built in 1651, destroyed by the volcano in 1902, and rehabilitated in 1909.

In the heart of the city of Saint Pierre, once the capital of the island, visit the renovated volcanological museum; the ruins of the old theater; the dungeon of Cyparis, one of the two survivors of the volcano eruption; some alleys still cobbled from time and vestiges of the past.

The route then takes you along the northern slope bordered by fishing villages and small colorful coves.

In the village of Carbet you will see this long beach which was once the place of anchorage for the caravels of the navigator Christopher Columbus in June of the year 1502.

Return to the hotel scheduled for 5.30 p.m.
